# How Does a Brick Making Machine Work? Taking the widely used concrete cement brick making machine as an example, the core principle of a brick making machine is to process loose raw materials into dense, high-strength bricks through the process of "raw material treatment → forming and reinforcement → demolding". It can be specifically divided into 4 key steps. Machines with different automation levels (manual/semi-automatic/fully automatic) vary slightly in operational details, but the core principle remains consistent: ### 1. Raw Material Pretreatment and Mixing First, core raw materials (such as aggregates like sand, crushed stone, and cement, along with a small amount of additives and water) are fed into the machine's **mixing system** in a preset ratio. Fully automatic models use conveyor belts/hoppers for automatic feeding, while semi-automatic/manual models require manual auxiliary feeding. The mixing system operates at high speed via spiral blades or mixing shafts to fully blend all raw materials into a uniform, appropriately moist "mortar" or "mixture". This step directly affects the density and strength of the bricks-uneven mixing can easily lead to cracks, insufficient strength, and other defects in the finished bricks. ### 2. Conveying Raw Materials to the Forming Mold The mixed raw materials are accurately conveyed to the machine's **forming mold** through pipes, conveyor belts, or manual shoveling. The shape and size of the mold can be changed according to production needs (e.g., molds for hollow bricks, solid bricks, or colored bricks). At this stage, the raw materials are only in a loosely filled state and require further reinforcement and forming. ### 3. Dual Reinforcement Forming via Pressurization + Vibration This is the core process of the brick making machine, aiming to densify the loose raw materials: - **Pressurization Stage**: The machine's hydraulic or mechanical pressure head exerts high pressure (usually 10-30MPa) downward, squeezing the raw materials in the mold to the set thickness and initially fixing the brick shape. - **Vibration Stage**: At the same time, the vibration device at the bottom or side of the mold generates high-frequency vibration (usually 1,000-3,000 times per minute), which expels air gaps between the raw material particles, making the particles fit more tightly. This significantly improves the density, compressive strength, and water resistance of the bricks. ### 4. Demolding and Finished Product Output After the brick is formed in the mold (the single forming time is usually 10-30 seconds, depending on the brick type and machine power), the machine's **demolding mechanism** (such as an ejection rod or side-pushing device) smoothly pushes the formed brick out of the mold to avoid cracking or deformation of the brick. Finally, the finished bricks are transported to a curing area (for natural curing or steam curing) via a conveyor belt to achieve further strength improvement before being put into use.
